Applying for a work visa in Dubai, UAE

A work visa, also known as an employee visa, is required to work in the United Arab Emirates. This is a mandatory document that is essentially a long-term resident visa valid for two years, allowing individuals to live and work in the UAE.

An employee visa should not be confused with a job invitation. It is issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) and allows a foreigner to legally work in the Emirates. It is also sponsored by the employer and must be obtained before the employee enters the UAE.

The work visa is also usually sponsored by the employer and includes the name and position of the employee. It is possible to apply for a work visa permit when the employee reaches the age of 18.

Main steps:

Obtaining an entry permit from the Ministry of Labour (the employer applies for it in the employee's name). It is possible to enter the UAE within 2 months, after that the permit will be invalid
When staying in the UAE as a tourist or on any other basis, you must first apply for a change of residence status
Obtaining a labour card
Passing a medical examination
Applying for a local identity card (ID)
Acquiring health insurance
Once all procedures have been completed and all documents have been received, you can legally live and work in Dubai as long as your labour card and visa are valid.
